Large-Scale Public Art for a Renewed Campus
We were proud to manufacture and install a series of large-scale artworks at Tas Tafe’s Alanvale Campus. The project formed part of the broader A Block redevelopment and was delivered in collaboration with Arts Tasmania.
The artworks were created by Tasmanian Aboriginal artist Caleb Nichols-Mansell. They feature across key areas of the campus, including the Library Wall, Taypani Student Hub, and Hub Corridor. Together, the works respond to themes of community, connection to place, and shared experience. As a result, they help anchor the redeveloped spaces in the stories and forms of northern lutruwita.

Our team worked closely with project partners throughout the process. First, we focused on accurate production that respected the detail and intent of each artwork. Then, we carefully managed installation to suit the scale and flow of the building. This ensured the works integrated naturally into the campus environment.
Importantly, the artworks now sit within spaces used every day by students and staff. They create moments of connection while supporting a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. At the same time, they add depth and meaning beyond visual impact alone.

Overall, this project shows how public art can strengthen place and identity. It is a considered outcome made possible through the Tasmanian Government’s Public Art Scheme. We were proud to help bring it to life.
