Flying Colours Group partnered with Lion Corporate to refresh two large illuminated display cans at Boags Brewery in Launceston. The brief was clear. Remove the existing decals from the acrylic lightboxes and re-wrap the forms with updated Boags branding that performs under illumination.

Because the cans are internally lit, material selection was critical. We chose digitally printed non-blockout vinyl with a matte laminate to allow consistent light transmission. This approach prevents hot spots and avoids colour wash-out once the units are switched on.

We also fine-tuned ink density to ensure the reds and greens hold depth while still glowing evenly. As a result, the brand colours remain rich by day and vibrant at night.

In addition, we refined the supplied artwork to suit the curved format. We removed secondary packaging elements and adjusted fine linework to maintain clarity at scale. Each can features two brand faces, so precise alignment and seam control were essential across the cylindrical surface.

The final result delivers bold, evenly illuminated brand icons that anchor the brewery façade. From the street, the cans read clearly. Up close, the finish remains clean and premium.

Projects like this rely on strong material knowledge, disciplined print control and accurate installation. When light becomes part of the design, every detail matters.
