When it comes to event signage, great design does more than provide directions or display a logo—it transforms a venue into an experience.
At Flying Colours Group, we’re passionate about creating immersive environments that tell a story, which is exactly what we had the opportunity to do for the Rosie’s Reading Wonder Gala.
Held in Tasmania, the gala celebrated the incredible work Rosie’s Reading is doing to improve childhood literacy by delivering free books to children through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Australia. We were proud to partner with the organisation by designing, producing and installing the visual elements that helped bring the evening to life.
Designing an immersive event experience
Creating memorable events starts long before guests walk through the doors.
Working closely with the Rosie’s Reading team, our designers and production specialists developed a cohesive collection of custom event signage, illustrated displays and large-format graphics that transformed the venue into a colourful storybook world.
Our scope included:
- Custom Wonder Gala entrance signage
- Large-format feature walls
- Reading Corner backdrop
- Imagination Library bookshelf display
- Roo Knows Blue feature display
- Life-sized illustrated character cut-outs
- Event graphics and decorative signage throughout the venue
Every element was produced in-house by Flying Colours Group, ensuring consistency in colour, quality and finish while delivering an engaging experience for guests.
Custom event signage that creates memorable experiences
Successful event branding is about creating moments that people remember.
Throughout the evening, guests explored the Reading Corner, browsed the Imagination Library display, posed for photos with the custom illustrations and experienced an event space filled with colour, creativity and imagination.
Rather than simply decorating a venue, the signage became part of the guest experience, encouraging interaction while reinforcing the Rosie’s Reading story.
Whether it’s a charity gala, awards night, conference, exhibition or corporate launch, thoughtful event displays help elevate the atmosphere and strengthen the connection between guests and your brand.

Supporting Tasmania’s community
Projects like the Rosie’s Reading Wonder Gala are particularly rewarding because they combine creativity with community impact.
Rosie’s Reading is helping children across Tasmania develop a lifelong love of books and literacy by providing free books from birth until they begin school. The organisation’s work is creating brighter futures for thousands of Tasmanian families, and we’re honoured to have played a small part in supporting that mission.
Congratulations to the Rosie’s Reading team, volunteers, sponsors and everyone involved in delivering such a successful evening.
