Flying Colours Group Brings New Horizons Tasmania’s Crocodile Dundee Gala to Life

When New Horizons Tasmania set out to transform its Crocodile Dundee Gala into an immersive Australian-themed event, Flying Colours Group was proud to come on board as a sponsor and help bring the creative vision to life.

As a Tasmanian design, print and signage company, projects like this are right in our wheelhouse. Our team worked across the creative development, printing and signage production for the event, creating a collection of large-format graphics, custom displays and event collateral that transformed the venue from the moment guests arrived.

And judging by the finished result, there was certainly no shortage of Australiana!

Event design, printing and signage – all under one roof

One of the advantages of working with Flying Colours Group is our ability to take a project from an initial creative concept right through to finished production.

For the Crocodile Dundee Gala, that meant developing a consistent visual theme that could work across everything from smaller printed pieces to large-format event signage and stage graphics.

The event included an impressive 8.9-metre-wide stage treatment featuring Australian landscapes and oversized kangaroos, alongside a range of freestanding wildlife displays, themed directional signage and custom event graphics.

Our team also developed a dedicated photo opportunity, designed at 2.4 metres high, giving guests another way to interact with the Crocodile Dundee theme throughout the evening.

Custom event signage with plenty of personality

This wasn’t a project that called for generic event signage.

The concept incorporated some unmistakably Australian elements, including kangaroos, crocodiles, emus, koalas and other native wildlife, together with playful road and warning signs designed specifically for the event.

The result was a venue that felt cohesive from end to end, with the branding and theme continuing across the stage, walls, bar areas and guest spaces.

Even the bar received the full treatment, with custom Billabong Bar signage and an entry arch, while event tickets were designed to continue the Crocodile Dundee theme right down to the smaller details.

It’s exactly the type of project our team loves: creative, slightly unconventional and an opportunity to combine graphic design, commercial printing, large-format printing and custom signage into one complete solution.
