Boags Brewhouse is one of Tasmania’s most recognised heritage destinations, combining hospitality, retail and museum-style storytelling within a single visitor experience.

Flying Colours Group delivered a comprehensive signage solution for the site, working in collaboration with Monster Children Creative and the broader project team. The result is a cohesive, high-quality signage system that strengthens brand presence while guiding visitors seamlessly through the space.

Fabricated Signage Suite

A key component of the project was a suite of bespoke fabricated signage elements, purpose-built to integrate with the architecture and deliver strong visual impact.

The centrepiece is the illuminated open-face canister letter sign. Each aluminium letter was precision-formed to achieve consistent depth, clean edges and even illumination using integrated neon-look LED lighting. Finishes were carefully matched to brand specifications to ensure a bold and refined outcome.

Supporting fabricated elements include a double-sided circular blade sign with opal acrylic faces and concealed internal illumination, along with custom directional signage designed for durability in a high-traffic environment. Custom brackets and fixing systems were fabricated to integrate cleanly with the existing building fabric.

All fabrication was completed in-house, allowing full control over materials, finishes and quality assurance.

Visitor Experience Signage Package

Beyond fabrication, Flying Colours Group delivered a complete signage package across the entire visitor experience, with internal interpretive design supplied by Monster Children Creative.

Externally, the signage suite includes illuminated entrance signage, blade signage and directional elements that establish clear arrival points while complementing the heritage façade.

Internally, we produced and installed a wide range of interpretive and retail signage. This includes large-format wall graphics, Phototex panels, cut vinyl glass graphics, modular menu systems, acrylic wall plaques, reverse-printed acrylic strut cards and custom signage structures.

Flying Colours Group managed production engineering, material selection, print, fabrication and installation across all zones.

The final result functions as a unified system rather than a collection of individual signs. It supports wayfinding, enhances storytelling and reinforces the Boags brand throughout the site.
