Designed by Rae Studio for Tasmanian Walking Company, these pocket guides are made to travel. They are not just promotional pieces. Instead, they act as companions for each journey.

Compact and easy to carry, the guides support travellers as they plan their walk or reflect on it afterwards. From Cradle Mountain to Bay of Fires and beyond, each panel opens out like the landscape itself — steady, spacious and calm.

The muted green palette sets a grounded tone. Clear, confident typography supports the imagery rather than competing with it. As the folds open, wide landscapes stretch across the panels, giving Tasmania’s coastline and alpine terrain room to breathe.

Importantly, every design choice reflects the brand’s character. Nothing feels rushed. Nothing feels loud. Rather, the guide invites readers to slow down.

We printed the guides on Knight Linen from Ball & Doggett to add subtle texture and durability. The linen finish gives the piece a soft tactility that feels natural in the hand. When light moves across the surface, the texture becomes visible. As a result, the guide feels considered from the first touch.

Material selection plays a key role in how people experience print. Paper weight, finish and fold structure all influence how long a piece is kept. In this case, those decisions reinforce the premium nature of the walks themselves.

Although the format folds down neatly, it opens generously. Precise folding ensures imagery aligns across panels. Careful production keeps typography sharp at every crease. Because of this attention to detail, the final piece feels cohesive and refined.

Digital content may spark interest. However, physical print anchors memory. A guide like this becomes part of the walk. Travellers reference it before departure, carry it along the trail and keep it afterwards.
